| The Production Process
The Rotational Molding process involves five production stages:
- Service Station #2
- Mold is opened
- Inserts and graphics are installed on the
inside surface of the mold
- Resin is dispensed into the mold
- Mold is closed and clamped shut
- Oven (450-600°F)
- Mold is rotated at a ratio that will produce
even resin coverage
- Oven is heated to cause the resin to melt and
stick to the inside surface of the mold
- Intermediate (Fans)
- Mold moves to this station for a predetermined
period of slow air cooling
- Cooler (Water Spray and Fans)
- Fans and fine water spray cool the mold to a desired temperature
- Service Station #1
- Insert holders and other removable features are
removed from the mold
- The hollow plastic part is de-molded and placed
at the trim station for secondary operations

At the trim station, all cutting and cleanup operations are
completed. This may include drilling, routing, CNC, and cutting
operations as well as flushing and cleaning steps. Parts are
then ready to be packaged and moved to the shipping staging area.
